Replace doesn't change my text
- Make sure the app you were writing in is still open and you haven't clicked elsewhere in it after selecting the text.
- Some text can't be edited, such as received emails or web pages. In those cases, click the copy icon and paste the result yourself.
- If nothing changes, press Ctrl+C+C again and click Replace once more.
The popup shows old text, not what I selected
Close the popup (X at the top right), select your text again and click the G or press Ctrl+C+C.
Rephrase is greyed out
Rephrase works best on shorter passages. Select a sentence or a short paragraph and try again, or click Edit in App and use Rephrase in the full Ginger app.
Ctrl+C+C does nothing
- Check that Ginger is running (G icon in the system tray).
- Check that the shortcut is turned on in Settings, and that you're pressing the current shortcut if you changed it.
- Another program may use the same shortcut. Change Ginger's shortcut in Settings and try the new one.
The popup opens far from my text
If Open Ginger as mini-window is selected, Ginger opens on top of the app you're using. You can drag the window by its title bar to a more convenient place.
The Ginger window is blank or doesn't load
Ginger uses Microsoft Edge WebView2, which is part of Windows. Restart Ginger. If the window is still blank, install or repair the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime from Microsoft's website, then restart your computer.
My text is too long
Ginger checks up to 6,000 characters at a time. Check long documents in parts.
