The buttons at the bottom of the Ginger popup let you decide what to do with the result.
Button | What it does |
|---|---|
Replace | Puts the corrected or translated text in place of your selection |
Rephrase | Shows alternative ways to write your text |
Copy icon | Copies the result so you can paste it anywhere |
Speaker icon | Reads the text aloud; click again to stop |
Edit in App (or Open app) | Opens the full Ginger app with your text, for longer editing |
Undo a replacement
If you don't like the result after clicking Replace, go back to your app and press Ctrl+Z right away. Your original text comes back.
If you replace the same text more than once in a row (for example, correct it and then translate it), undo straight after each replacement. Undoing several steps later may take you all the way back to the original text.
When Replace isn't available
If the text can't be edited, for example a received email or a web page you're reading, Ginger shows Copy instead of Replace. Copy the result and paste it where you need it.
Formatting
Replace keeps the font and size of the text you selected.
