Ctrl+C+C works in any app where you can select and copy text, including apps where the floating G doesn't appear.
To check text with the shortcut
- Select the text you want to check, with the mouse or the keyboard.
- Hold Ctrl and press C twice quickly.
- Ginger opens with your text and its corrections.
- Click Replace to put the corrected text back, or use any of the other options.
Good to know
- By default, Ginger opens as a mini-window on top of the app you're using. You can choose to open the full app instead (see Customize Ginger).
- Ctrl+C+C also copies your selected text to the clipboard, just like Ctrl+C.
- You can change the shortcut to another key combination in Settings. The old shortcut stops working once you change it.
- To check a whole document, press Ctrl+A to select everything, then Ctrl+C+C. Ginger checks up to [6,000] characters at a time.
